CONCERNS have been raised about Cardigan’s ‘disappearing’ police inspectors.

Cllr Catrin Miles told last week’s town council meeting that under-age drinking had been discussed with the local inspector.

She said: “I am confident that they are on the case and they are aware of the problems and doing what they can.”

Cllr John Adams-Lewis replied that he had received a letter from the inspector stating she would be away for three months.

He said: “There is a tendency that they are here for a few months then they disappear, so they don’t have time to really know the area.

“It’s a shame if they are not here for a while to get to know the people and get to know the town.”

A letter from Inspector Christina Fraser, read out at last week’s council meeting, stated that Insp Gareth Jones would be in charge of Cardigan while she spent time in the force’s control room.

She added that Insp Jones was from Newcastle Emlyn, and was aware of local priorities.
