A TYWYN town councillor has spoken of how his family still has nightmares following a burglary at their home four months ago.

In the early hours of Saturday, 18 July, Cllr Dan Wyre believes somebody broke into his house whilst he, his wife and two young daughters, aged nine and three, were asleep upst­airs.

The thief, or thieves, then took the keys to his black Ford Zetec and made off with his vehicle, with all of the councillor’s photography equipment, which he had left in the car.

The car was found later that day burnt out near Bailey Bridge.

As a result of the arson attack, the car was written off.

The episode has shaken the Wyre family and has left his wife and daughter experiencing “awful” nightmares.

“We can never get the car back and to be honest the feeling that the person responsible has been inside the car makes me glad it was written off,” Cllr Wyre told the Cambrian News. “Our oldest daughter Holly, hasn’t had a good night’s sleep since the theft.
