EMERGENCY services teams searching for a veteran dinghy sailor missing from Gwbert since Saturday have continued to draw a blank.
Arthur Roy “Archie” Taylor, 90, was last seen at around 9.30am on Saturday when he left his accommodation to take his boat out to sea off Teifi Boating Club.
The alarm was raised when Mr Taylor’s boat was found at nearby Coronation Drive on its side with its sails set.
Teifi Boating Club commodore John Leigh said: “All I know is that his boat was found on its side at Coronation Drive with its sails up and its rudder down and there was no sign of Archie.”
Police, who had appealed to the public to come forward with photo or video footage taken along the coast near Gwbert, admitted on Monday that they were no nearer to solving the mystery of Mr Taylor’s disappearance.
“We are very grateful to the number of people who responded,” said a spokesperson. “Unfortunately, we have looked at the images provided and have eliminated them from our inquiry as none were of Mr Taylor’s vessel, therefore, we continue our appeal.”
