A DISABLED woman believes a gang of criminals are targeting vulnerable people in Penparcau after police arrested a woman for an alleged attempted burglary of her home.

It was reported last week that, amid a surge in burglaries and attempted break-ins in Penparcau, an “aggressive” woman was arrested but later released with no further police action following a disturbance at a property in Min-y-Ddol, at 2am on Sunday, 4 December.

The Cambrian News has now learned that the property where the disturbance took place is one of three purpose-built bungalows for disabled people at Ger-y-Ddol, and that no further action was taken by police because of a lack of evidence.

Speaking to the Cambrian News, Denise Sepulveda, who suffers with a neurological disorder which attacks her spine and has left her in a wheelchair, described the unnerving events she woke up to.

“We woke up to this commotion outside, and my son picked me up against the window so I could see what was going on,” said Miss Sepulveda, who lives with her two sons, aged 16 and 14.

“She was shouting ‘f*****g pigs’, ‘they are raping me, they are raping me, the c***s are raping’. I thought there was a young woman getting raped outside.

“I was about to tell them to stop before I realised it was the police trying to arrest someone."
