GEORGE Lloyd and his son Huw who are known to all as ‘George and Huw Pengarreg’ have between them notched up 76 years of service to the community of Aberaeron and district with the Fire and Rescue Service.
Huw recently attended a “Celebrating Success” ceremony in Swansea, in the presence of the Lord Lieutenant of Powys, which recognised the 41 years he has served in the brigade following on from the 35 years served by George.
Aberaeron mayor Tom Williams along with county Cllr Elisabeth Evans congratulated and thanked them for their dedication.
Cllr Williams said: “We have a long and proud tradition of producing firefighters in Aberaeron, who give many years of loyal service, however George and Huw Lloyd who have given 76 years between them must now hold the record for our fire station and recognition of their fine service is richly deserved.”
