AN internet safety evening will be held at Ysgol Botwnnog this week.
The North Wales Police Cyber Crime Team, in conjunction with the All Wales School Liaison Programme, are holding an internet safety evening at Ysgol Botwnnog on Wednesday, 28 September, at 6pm.
School community police officer PC Dewi Owen will be joined by DC Nicholas Hawe from the Force Cyber Crime Unit to give a presentation about cyber crime and to give advice and guidance on any issues relating to internet safety.
PC Owen said: “As school community police officers we already deliver a number of important internet safety lessons to children aged between five and 16 as part of the All Wales School Liaison programme.
However, we also want to help parents to keep themselves and their family safe on.
“Parents need to be aware of the latest threats that social media and messaging apps can bring in order to make sure that their children stay safe online.
“Everybody is welcome to attend to learn all the latest information from the experts that will help keep you and the whole family safe online.”
Further information on how to stay safe online is available via the All Wales Schools Liaison Programme website at www.schoolbeat.org.
