DYFED-Powys Police officers and RSPCA officials have carried out a joint raid on a property in the Aberporth area.

The raid took place on Thursday evening and involved a total of 48 dogs, seven quail and five chickens being seized under section 18 (5) of the Animal Welfare Act 2006.

Ceredigion County Council officers and and the Rural Crime Team are said to be already dealing with reported issues.

An RSPCA spokesman said: "The RSPCA has worked with Dyfed-Powys Police and the local authority concerning an incident in Aberporth."This is an on-going investigation and for legal reasons we cannot provide further details."
