CARDIGAN RNLI lifeboats have this morning resumed a multi-agency search for woman seen in the River Teifi.

The station’s Atlantic 85 and D-class inshore lifeboats were launched shortly before 9am this morning at the request of the UK Coastguard to resume the search.

Alongside other emergency services, they are searching an area between Cardigan bridge and the mouth of the estuary.

Both lifeboats and their volunteer crews were first paged to launch yesterday afternoon following reports of a woman seen in the River Teifi at around 1.15pm.

Both lifeboats searched the river alongside Coastguard Rescue Teams, the Coastguard Search and Rescue helicopter based at Caernarfon, Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service and the police.

The RNLI lifeboats were stood down by the UK Coastguard at 4.50pm yesterday.
