THE long and distinguished career of a Dolgellau firefighter has been acknowledged.

The Dedication to Service award was presented to Neville Evans, who has provided excellent commitment to the Fire and Rescue Service in north Wales as a result of extended service as a member of the retained duty system for over 33 years.

Neville joined the service in March 1985 and has served his entire career at Dolgellau Fire Station where he remains today.
