A 71-year-old man has been airlifted to hospital after a stabbing in Borth.

The man was attacked while walking his dogs in the vicinity of Borth Wild Animal Kingdom at roughly 9.50am this morning.

The footpath leading to the lion enclosure at Borth Wild Animal Kingdom has been cordoned off, with visitors denied access.

There is a heavy police presence in the area investigating the scene.

A 21-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the incident and is currently in police custody.

Police are not looking for anyone else at this time.
