Police have arrested a man on suspicion of arson after an early-morning fire at a garage near Aberystwyth’s South Beach.

Firefighters were called to the garage, which is at the rear of a property on South Marine Terrace, at around 6.30am today.

Police confirmed that while nobody was injured, a man has been arrested on suspicion of arson.

A spokesperson said: “Police were called at approximately 6.30am on Wednesday, 14 November, to reports of a garage fire at the rear of a property in South Marine Terrace, Aberystwyth.

“One male has been arrested on suspicion of arson.

“No injuries reported.
