A MAN has been arrested on suspicion of deliberately running over a woman, leaving her with serious injuries.

The woman remains in hospital after being struck by vehicle on Parciau, Mynytho on Sunday morning.

Police investigating the incident were outside a property on the estate throughout Sunday following reports of a woman being hit by a car around 10am.

It is understood the man arrested and the woman - who has not been named - are known to each other.

She remains in Ysbyty Gwynedd where she is receiving treatment for her injuries.

A North Wales Police spokeswoman said: “Police were called at 10.02am on Sunday to a report that a female had been hit by a car outside an address in Parciau, Mynytho.

“As a result a 36-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of committing grievous bodily harm and dangerous driving.

“The female, who sustained serious injuries, remains in hospital.

“Police are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the incident to contact DC 1498 Gareth Jones in Dolgellau CID on 101, quoting reference V175161.”
