A 61-YEAR-OLD man who uses a wheelchair has been ordered to pay £200 compensation after spitting at the face of an Ysbyty Gwynedd security guard.

No other punishment was imposed at a special weekend court at Llandudno.

Paul Bleakley, who had been living in supported accommodation at Dolgellau but has now moved to a Manchester nursing home, pleaded guilty to common assault.

Sam Aynsley, prosecuting, said the security guard had been called because of Bleakley’s behaviour.

Defence solicitor Bethan Williams said he didn’t mean to assault the guard. It was a reckless act and he wished to apologise.
