A pensioner was found sitting naked in front of his living room window when police arrived to arrest him on suspicion of exposing himself a court heard.
Ifan Leslie McClelland, of Tan y Barty, Pwllheli, stood on a chair in his front room and exposed his genitals to one woman twice, and to another on one occasion between April and June this year.
The 70-year-old also made crude sexual statements to the women, one of whom was vulnerable because of learning difficulties.
McClelland was found guilty of three counts of exposing his genitals with the intention of being seen and in a way likely to cause alarm or distress to his victims, following a trial at Caernarfon Magistrates’ Court last Thursday.
The pensioner was tried in his absence after he failed to turn up to the one-day hearing.
The court heard how McClelland would regularly parade naked in front of his living room window and how, on three occasions, he fondled himself, asked the women to enter his home and suggested they engage in sexual activity with him.
His first victim was passing McClelland’s house when she saw the pensioner standing naked on a chair.
The woman said she saw McClelland “playing with himself” before he invited her into his home.
“He said: ‘Come into the house,’” she told the police. “I said no.”
The man then asked the woman if he could lick her breasts.
Following a second, almost identical incident on 9 June, witnesses heard McClelland make similar suggestions to the woman and she was persuaded to report the matter to the police.
She told police she was “disgusted” by the man’s actions, and had since avoided passing the pensioner’s house for fear of encountering him again.
The second woman was targeted by McClelland in a similar way.
“He was standing on his chair, semi-erect, playing with himself,” she said.
He again made remarks about wanting to lick the woman’s breasts though this time in even more explicit terms.
When police were sent to McClelland’s home on 10 June, PC Aled Hughes found the pensioner undressed.
“He was sat towards the window totally naked in an arm chair,” the officer said in a statement.
“He made no attempt to hide his genitalia which was on display.”
McClelland denied exposing himself to the women, said he was no longer sexually active and insisted he had only been naked when police arrived because he was “warm.”
Magistrates took just an hour and a half to find the 70-year-old guilty of exposing himself to the two women, and he will be sentenced at a later date.
Chair of the bench Peter Campbell said both victims were “credible witnesses” who had been consistent in explaining their versions of events.
He said: “The defendant did not appear in court today to contradict any of the evidence given by the prosecution witnesses.”
A warrant without bail was issued for McClelland’s arrest.
