POLICE are appealing for information following two separate reports of a man acting suspiciously within the grounds of Aberystwyth Castle on Tuesday.

Officers are investigating after a report was made that a man, wearing baggy green shorts and a distinctive T-shirt with camouflage design, approached a child in the grounds at around 1pm on 21 August, as well as a female at approximately 3.30pm.

A 41-year-old man has been arrested in connection with these incidents and remains in police custody while further enquiries are being made.

A police spokesperson said: "Anyone who was in the castle on Tuesday afternoon who might have seen a man matching this description, or took any photographs that may have captured a man of this description is asked to contact Dyfed-Powys Police by calling 101 and quoting incident number 359 of 21 August 2018. "
