A Gwynedd Council spokesperson said: “A former member of the authority’s education staff is the subject of a police inquiry.
“As soon as the authority was made aware of the allegation, all the relevant child protection guidelines were followed.
“It would not be appropriate for the council to make any further comment whilst the police enquiries are ongoing.”
A North Wales Police spokesperson said: “We can confirm that a police investigation is currently ongoing.”It is understood the allegation concerns an alleged relationship with an underage pupil.
