POLICE are hunting for a trio of men wanted in connection with an attempted robbery and an assault in Aberystwyth.
Aberystwyth police believe that both incidents, late in the evening of Wednesday, 6 July, are linked and are searching for three suspects who were described as wearing grey clothing.
At around 11.30pm, a 53-year-old man was getting cash from a cashpoint at Lloyds Bank in Cambrian Place when he was approached by three men who demanded money and assaulted him, police said.
The man was taken to Bronglais hospital for treatment but has since been released.
No money or property was stolen during the incident.
Another incident on the same night saw a 29-year-old man was also approached by three men in Cambrian Place.
One of the men assaulted the victim, who received injuries to the face and currently remains in hospital.
A police spokeswoman said: “The two incidents are currently being linked and police are appealing for anyone who witnessed the incidents or anyone who has information that could help the investigation to contact Aberystwyth CID on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
