POLICE say drugs raids carried out in Lampeter and Llandysul last week were just the start of a new operation to crack down on users and dealers.

As part of Dyfed-Powys Police’s Total Focus campaign, officers executed warrants under the Misuse of Drugs Act at addresses in both towns on Wednesday.

Officers seized two cannabis grinders and 28g of herbal cannabis with an estimated street value of around £300 at a property in Llandysul having been tipped off there was dealing going on there.

“We’ve had a day of action across the force focusing on vulnerability, during which we have targeted premises for drugs, visited B&Bs to alert them of the signs of CSE, and carried out rogue trader activities,” said Sgt Shaun Richards.

“We executed a warrant in Llandysul following information that had been received about the address.

“It proved positive and we recovered 28g of herbal cannabis, along with some drug-related paraphernalia.

“This is a very good result for Llandysul, and the start of a campaign which we will progress to target drug users and dealers in our areas.”

“If anyone has any information about drugs use or supply we would ask them to please let us know so we can take positive action to keep our public safe,” added Sgt Richards.

Anyone with information that can help officers with their investigations is asked to report it by calling 101.
