Aberystwyth Lions Club has presented volunteers from the Aberystwyth Community First Responders team with a cheque for £600.

The donation, made at the club’s meeting in November, will help to purchase two items of specialist training equipment in cardiopulmonary resuscitation for the responders to use during their training sessions.

The First Responders teams are made up of local volunteers who donate their spare time to being on call to quickly attend to people who have an emergency need for immediate medical care.

They are fully trained in the skills of resuscitation and other emergency medical needs by the Welsh Ambulance Service and carry out many other duties of immediate medical care within the Aberystwyth area and beyond.
