North Wales Police have thanked the public for their assistance in arresting three individuals following counterfeit currency offences in the area.
The police also said thanks after help was given to locate a man, who has been charged with three burglaries and a theft.
Expressing their gratitude to the people of Porthmadog and Barmouth, the police said: “Their vigilance and willingness to share information this weekend has resulted in two males and a female being arrested.”
The three were arrested after an appeal was launched on Friday, 18 October, by North Wales Police investigating reports of counterfeit currency being distributed.
Police described a vehicle they were looking for as a dark blue Ford Transit.
Members of the public spotted the vehicle in Porthmadog and contacted the neighbourhood team, leading to arrests.
Two of the arrested individuals have been given conditional bail whilst enquiries continue. The third remains in custody.
A wanted male was also arrested in Barmouth following two house burglaries in the Meirionnydd area and a commercial burglary in the Caernarfon area. An additional offence of theft was in regards to a stolen RNLI charity box elsewhere in North Wales.
A man is currently in custody and due to appear in court after being charged with three burglaries and a theft. He was also wanted for alleged offences by two forces from the north west of England.
A member of the public in Barmouth contacted the police after a description of a male was shared by North Wales.
