A PWLLHELI pensioner has been jailed for six months for exposing himself on a housing estate.

Ifan McClelland, 70, was found guilty of exposing himself to two women, once when standing on a sofa in his living room.

He also made indecent suggestions to women walking past his home at Tan y Barty.

When police arrived after being called to his house, the window was wide open and he was sitting naked on a chair, with his explanation that it was a hot day, a previous hearing had been told.

Diane Williams, prosecuting at Caernarfon court on Monday, said one woman had said: “He shouldn’t be living on the estate; he’s a danger to the public.”

Another had said: “I’m not scared, but he’s disgusting.”

Deborah Davies, defending, said McClelland had not been in trouble before and there had been no further incidents since June.

McClelland, who walks with a stick and is disabled, would not be fit to carry out unpaid work, the court heard.

In addition to the jail sentence he must pay £735 costs; an indefinite restraining order bans him from contacting the two women; and he will be on the sex offenders’ register for seven years.

Court chairman Elfed ap Gomer told him: “We are concerned you have shown no remorse nor empathy with your victims and don’t seem to have accepted your guilt.”
