A major road is closed this morning following reports of a serious collision between a car and a lorry.

Emergency services are currently on the scene on the A493 near Pennal following a collision between a car and a lorry shortly after 9am this morning.

Road users are being asked to avoid the area.

In a statement, North Wales Police says: "Traffic is building on the A493 in Pennal near Machynlleth following a serious collision involving a lorry and a car.

"Please avoid the area. We will update as and when we can."
