FIREFIGHTERS were called to extinguish a fire on the roof of the derelict RAFA Club in Aberystwyth on Wednesday night.
Two fire appliances from Aberystwyth were deployed to reports of a fire on Bridge Street at 9.54pm , where they were also joined by an ambulance and police officers.
A fire service spokesperson said: “The fire was confined to the roof area of the property and crews extinguished the fire using a hose reel jet and a thermal imaging camera.”
It was reported in the Cambrian News in March that a premises licence application had been lodged with Ceredigion County Council for a new venue at the RAFA Club, which has been closed since 2013.
The licence application is for alcohol, live and recorded music and dancing, with the venue to be called Bar46.
An ambulance spokesperson confirmed there were no casualties.
Firefighters left the scene at 10.32pm.
