A PWLLHELI businesswoman has been left shocked after a burglar smashed her shop window and stole jewellery worth over £400.

Around 11.20pm on Wednesday, 21 September, police officers were alerted to the burglary at Siop Iard on Gaol Street.

The front of the shop window was smashed and a number of items were taken from the window display.

Angela Evans, who is a partner in the Pwllheli business, that sells homemade jewellery and Welsh products, said she did not expect something like this to happen in the town.

She said: “Someone smashed our window and grabbed around five or six pieces of jewellery, worth around £400.

“What is frustrating about it all is that we have also had to pay around £1,000 to have a new window fitted on the front of the shop.

“We only opened in July last year and never expected something like this to happen in Pwllheli. It was quite shocking when I found out from the police the next morning.”
