A TEENAGER has been airlifted to hospital with serious injuries following a major collision near Pwllheli this morning.
Officers were called shortly after 9am on Thursday, 20 December, to a report of a two-vehicle collision involving a Mini Cooper and an Audi A3 on the A499 in Penrhos, Pwllheli.
Emergency services attended the scene and the 17-year-old male driver of the Mini Cooper has been airlifted to Ysbyty Gwynedd in Bangor by the Air Ambulance with serious injuries.
The female driver of the Audi has also been taken to Ysbyty Gwynedd by ambulance.
The road remains closed and diversions are in place and motorists are being advised to avoid the area.
Sergeant Raymond Williams of the Roads Policing Unit said: “Anybody who may have witnessed the Mini Cooper being driver along the A499 prior to the collision is asked to come forward.
“We are also appealing to anybody who may have dash cam footage to contact us.
“The road remains closed and I’d like to thank to the motoring public for their patience whilst colleagues from the Forensic Collision Investigation unit carry out early enquiries at the location.”
