THREE people sustained minor injuries in a two-vehicle collision on a mountain road above Newcastle Emlyn on Sunday morning.

A Mid and West Wales Fire Service spokesman said crews from Newcastle Emlyn and Llandysul attended an accident on the B4333 in the Maudlands area at 11.20am.

“The incident involved two private motor vehicles which had been involved in a head-on collision,” he added.

“Upon arrival at the scene crews were faced with three casualties all of which were treated for minor injuries and conveyed to hospital via ambulance.

“Crews used small gear to make both vehicles safe before recovery and left the scene at approximately 13.09pm.”

In a separate incident, Cardigan fire crews were called out to deal with a fuel spillage in Cenarth early on Sunday morning. Firefighters attended the incident ata propertu at Cenarth Bridge at 11:25am.

“At the scene, a large amount of heating oil had leaked from a domestic oil tank on to the roadway,” said a spokesman.

“Crews used absorbant granules and an environmental pack to clean up the scene and were involved in traffic management until the arrival of the highways department.

“Crews left the scene at approximately 1pm.”
