THREE Trawsfynydd men, including a father and son, have denied a joint charge of wounding and inflicting grievous bodily harm on William Barker at the Rhiw Goch Inn on 14 February.

Gwynedd Jones 58, and his son Richard Gwion Jones, 26, of 1 Maengwyn, Trawsfynydd pleaded not guilty to the joint charge. The third accused Robat Lloyd Davies, 26, of 7 Tyn y Pistyll, Trawsfynydd, also pleaded not guilty to the joint charge of GBH.

Davies also pleaded not guilty to a racially aggravated common assault on William Barker at Trawsfynydd earlier on 14 February.

Tracey Willingham, prosecuting at Dolgellau magistrates court, asked for the trial to be heard at the crown court on the grounds that a golf club was allegedly used in the assault and that the victim sustained injuries including a broken nose.

There were no objections to the case being referred to the crown court from the defence solicitors.

The magistrates formally sent the trial to Caernarfon Crown Court for trial on 18 July. Conditional bail was granted.
