An Aberystwyth road was closed this morning after two men were arrested on suspicion of assault and another was taken to hospital.

Dyfed-Powys Police is investigating an incident, that occurred at around 4.20am this morning on South Road, during which one man was taken to hospital for medical treatment and two men, aged 33 and 24, were arrested on suspicion of assault.

The road reopened just before 3pm this afternoon and the two men remain in police custody.

A spokesperson for the police said “enquiries into the incident are continuing”.
