VANDALS left a trail of destruction in Dolgellau as they ran amok in the town in the early hours of Bank Holiday Monday.
A series of criminal acts took place throughout the town on Sunday night, angering local officials and residents.
Deputy mayor Delwyn Evans was one of the first to hear about the criminal acts which occurred over the weekend.
“Some mindless people were running around at around 2am on Monday morning causing havoc,” he told the Cambrian News.
“They started on Cader Road, where they removed and smashed a selection of plant pots, before heading to Well Street where they smashed a double-glazed window.
"After that they headed to Islwyn Terrace where they threw a boulder through another window. Alongside all this they were knocking on doors and running away. You don’t expect behaviour like this in Dolgellau."
North Wales Police have confirmed they are investigating a series of broken windows in Dolgellau.
“Enquiries are ongoing. Anyone who has information relevant to the case is encouraged to ring 101 and report it,” a police spokesperson confirmed.
