A VIRTUAL reality centre in Aberystwyth has been forced to close after thieves broke in and stole valuable VR headsets and computer equipment worth £4,000.

The owners of VR Land in Bridge Street were shocked to discover they had been broken into last week, and the closure was announced in a post on their Facebook page.

It reads: “To all of our customers.

“We are sorry to say that VR Land is closed until further notice due to a break-in at our premises sometime between Monday evening and Tuesday morning this week (16 and 17 June).

“The culprit(s) stole all of our essential VR equipment.

“If anybody has any information at all regarding the break-in we would be grateful if you could phone Aberystwyth police station on 101. Please share this post and thank you for all of your support to date.”

The front door of VR Land appears to have been kicked, damaging the door frame.

When asked when the business would reopen, a spokesperson for VR Land told the Cambrian News: “Forensic officers attended the premises last Wednesday afternoon and insurance need to inspect, hopefully by end of this week.

“And then we’ve got to source and purchase new equipment so it could be a couple of weeks but hopefully earlier if possible."

Anyone with information should contact PC 347 Galland-Evans at Aberystwyth Police Station on 101.
