MOTORISTS have been warned to secure their cars and properties after a spate of attempted thefts.

A warning is being issued after an offender was spotted trying to open car doors in Harlech.

North Wales Police are urging residents to keep their cars and properties locked and to be on the lookout for people trying their doors after reports from the area over the last few days.

Sergeant Steve Williams from the local policing team said: “It’s important that residents ensure their vehicles and properties are not an easy target for criminals.

“They should make sure their vehicles are locked and that nothing is left on display that may tempt an opportunist thief.

“Equally, properties also need to be kept secure at all times. Just the simple act of locking the doors and windows could prevent the distress and upheaval of being burgled.”

He added: “Enquiries are on-going into these incidents and I would urge anyone with information which could help to contact us.”

Anybody who witnesses suspicious behaviour is asked to contact North Wales Police on 101 or if you see a crime in progress please call 999. Alternatively please contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
