A FIRE in the hills above Aberystwyth has reignited today.
The fire at Cwmrheidol started on Tuesday forcing the cancellation of trains on the Vale of Rheidol Railway.
On Wednesday it looked like the blaze was under control. But today the fire brigade said the fire had reignited.
A spokesperson said: "Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service have deployed firefighters to Cwmrheidol following the reignition of a wildfire that the service were initially called to at 11.29am on Tuesday, 26 June.
"Since our previous statement, at 4pm on Wednesday, 27 June, Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service have been monitoring and damping down hot spots at Cwmrheidol, but unfortunately, the dry and hot conditions along with swirling winds and difficult terrain have made reignition difficult to prevent."
