POLICE have launched an investigation after a man was found with serious head injuries on an Aberystwyth street last night.

Officers found the injured man ’resting on a window sill’ on Bridge Street at around 9pm on Saturday night.

In a social media post, Dyfed Powys Police say the 35-year-old man had been assaulted and ’is in a bad way’ following the incident.

The man was initially taken to Ysbyty Bronglais before being transferred to University Hospital of Wales in Cardiff due to the severity of his injuries.

Officers want to speak with any witnesses to the incident and are particularly keen to speak with a group of three people (two male and one female) who were last seen outside the Llew Du (Black Lion) Pub, Bridge St shortly before 9pm.

Anyone who was driving through the area between 8pm and 9pm and has dash cam footage of the road outside the Black Lion Pub, is also urged to contact officers.

Anyone who witnessed this incident, or saw the injured man sat on the windowsill is asked to contact officers in Aberystwyth, either online, by email at: [email protected] or by calling 101.
