A CARDIGAN woman is “back on track” after a period when she was arrested for possession of cannabis twice in a matter of days.
Rhian Elizabeth Jeremiah, 28, admitted possession of a small amount of cannabis on 16 August after police spoke to her and noticed she smelt of cannabis.
Prosecutor Kevin Challinor said Jeremiah, who is currently of no fixed abode, co-operated with the police and handed over the drug.
He said that Jeremiah had appeared in court for a separate charge of possession of cannabis just one day after the offence and was given a conditional discharge, although that was imposed after this offence.
Defence solicitor Alan Lewis said at the time Jeremiah had been struggling with bereavement and housing issues and had turned to cannabis to help her deal with anxiety.
Since then she had found a job and has stopped using cannabis as she is “getting her life back on track”.
Magistrates agreed to impose a separate conditional discharge for six months, to run alongside the current conditional discharge. However, she will pay costs of £105.
