Madam,

I’m sure like many visitors and residents of Llanon, I found S Harris’s response to my letter to be rather disappointing.

This isn’t the way to make Llanon open and welcoming to visitors or people hoping to return there to retire.

There is a lot of support on the Llanon/Llansantffraid Facebook groups for the issues I raised about road safety, child health and environmental health.

Also, I am not sure how my praise for Llanon’s great community spirit, the hard work of the new community council and my concern about children’s health can be seen in any way derogatory.

If a child or a person had become ill, what would S Harris’s response be then? I would rather visit Llanon than Oakwood or Alton Towers because it was the place where I grew up, and I hope it will remain a welcoming place for everyone.

I also hope people in Llanon will support the efforts of the new community council to improve Llanon.

Finally, I would also like to point out that my surname is Walker, not Williams. If only S Harris had read my letter of concern carefully.

Yours etc,

Alun Walker, Tonypandy.
