MEIRIONNYDD villagers left without internet access for almost a month are to see their bills from BT rise.
Residents in Mallwyd had been left without an internet connection since Storm Doris battered the village on 23 February.
But despite repeated calls from residents to BT, repair work was only completed on Sunday, 19 March.
BT told disgruntled residents that they haven’t got the resources to carry out the work and are facing planning issues.
Guto Jones, one of the affected householders, said the failure to address the problem had left residents frustrated.
He said: “After countless amounts of phone calls with BT they still haven’t made any effort to fix the line. All that’s needed to fix it is one pole and some new wire.
“Every time we call them up we get different excuses from them, from they haven’t got the resources to come out to planning issues.
“In the meantime we had an e-mail saying our prices are going to be increased by £1 a month.
“There’s about 15 households that I know of that use the fibre broadband. My parents are one of the other households.
“One of our neighbours have a son studying for his school exams and needs the internet to study and another neighbour has a business selling items on the internet.
The Cambrian News asked BT for a comment, but no response was received at the time of publication.
