How good to read the heartwarming letter from our Bishop Joanna, re: Dydd Dewi Sant.

We could not watch the children march, or join in any parties, but, as we are reminded, we can ‘Do the little things and be faithful’ (Dewi Sant). These words he gave to his followers, still cheer us on today!

“The little things”: Buy local, support local producers, farmers, growers. Milk from a farm, just up the road, dispensed from a machine, locally (Lampeter). Meat that is traceable to a local farm, by name, veg grown just around the corner. Butter and cheese within a 20-mile radius.

Supporting local providers has become a way of life for us in lockdown.

It’s a joy to be able to do this, socialisation (from behind a mask!) with people who serve, week in and week out, faithful, in the little things.

When we relocated to Wales, 25 years ago, it was the answer to our prayers, and a great Hireath, that we had for this dear land.

Folk asked: “Won’t you miss the shops?” No indeed! We have found a richness in a way of life that is sustainable and rewarding, A people who are supportive and provided encouragement for our stumbling efforts at “farming” (probably endless amusement too!)

We are currently facing a time of trial (personally) with dementia, but in our loss, we are finding support, faithful and constant.A kindness that no “lockdown” can change - a welcome in the hillsides, always.
