ABERYSTWYTH has been brought to a stand-still during Friday rush-hour after two crashes on the main route into and out of the town.

Six cars have been involved in two separate incidents on Penglais Hill, closing both lanes to the north of the town.

Dyfed-Powys police officers, ambulance and fire crews from Aberystwyth are all in attendance at both three vehicle collisions which occurred within 10 minutes of each other at around 4pm.

The road remains closed and comes just hours after a misguided large lorry became stuck in the town centre, holding up traffic around town.

Police officers guided the large lorry to the relative safety of Stanley Road to allow traffic flow just minutes before the crashes on Penglais Hill.
