AN ITALIAN café in Aberystwyth will be featured in a new Christmas documentary series.

Agnelli’s on Bridge Street was visited by presenter Michela Chiappa last month for her new BBC series A Welsh-Italian Christmas.

Founded and owned by Chiara Agnelli, Agnelli’s was opened four years ago.

Chiara moved from Milan to Aberystwyth in 2003 and despite returning to Italy briefly she soon returned having found she missed the rolling hills and sheep of Wales and community feel of the town.

Chiara says that the reason she took part in the programme was to show that Welsh-Italians not only live in south Wales, but Aberystwyth too.

In A Welsh-Italian Christmas with Michela Chiappa, Michela travels across Wales to meet other Welsh-Italian families to discover the special meals they prepare to celebrate together.

A Welsh-Italian Christmas with Michela Chiappa, featuring Agnelli’s, will be shown on BBC One Wales tomorrow night at 7.30pm.
