A section of road just off the promenade in Aberystwyth has been closed because there is a risk to public safety.

The road known as Police Station Road has been closed because of a risk posed by the Swyddfa’r Sir building, which was once used as the town’s magistrates court.

The road was closed earlier today and a sign has been erected stating that there is no vehicle or pedestrian access.

Ceredigion County Council issued a press release, stating: “Following an assessment of the risk posed to public safety by Swyddfa’r Sir, the council put in place a road closure until work is carried out to remove the danger to public safety. The owners of the building have been informed.”
