EIGHT years ago today, large swathes of Mid Wales were submerged after around five inches of rain fell in just 24 hours.
The flood water led to some villages in Ceredigion being cut off with houses and caravan parks flooded with some people having to be rescued by helicopter.
As these photos sent in by Will Troughton of the National Library of Wales show, Aberystwyth was impassable as flood waters rose, with the worst affected areas being Talybont, Dol-y-bont, Llandre, and Penrhyncoch.
Over 150 firefighters and support staff were called to the mid Wales region with an estimated 25 million litres of water having to be pumped away as emergency services tackled the floods.
What are your memories of that day?
