Madam,
I fully agree with Phil Griffiths (‘We need full debate in parliament over whether Article 50 is invoked’).
It was 1.2 million out of 33 million votes which tipped us over the brink. It should be law that at least 75 per cent is required to change a status quo.
No-one can say when, and what, can get better if we leave. The leavers say we have to bear the pain before we get an answer. Thank you. Remember the 12 million eligible who didn’t vote.
The reasons are many: unable to do so on the day, may have thought remain would win easily, missed the postal vote, or too lazy to bother.
To add to this are the five million who didn’t register. It would certainly be a good idea if we adopted the Australian law that everyone has to vote.
