HUMAN excrement in the sand dunes, perpetually blocked public toilets and dozens of campervans staying overnight in the public car park at Black Rock Sands beach, Morfa Bychan, have angered local residents.
Campers have been accused of either “emptying their toilet containers directly onto the dunes” or “going to the toilet in public” because the public toilets are always blocked.
A slew of business owners, councillors and residents are growing increasingly concerned by the unofficial campers and have called for new laws to be introduced to prevent people from staying overnight at the popular beach, which recently retained its Blue Flag status.
Porthmadog councillor Selwyn Griffiths has received an “enormous amount” of complaints from local residents and visitors about the issue.
Pamela Roberts, who operates Glan-y-Môr camping site adjacent to the beach, said: “The dunes are disgusting.
“It’s bad enough with dog mess but now there’s human excrement too.
“We have to make sure our beautiful beach is properly protected.”
