BORTH Animalarium staff had a surprise when a new lynx who arrived at the zoo gave birth to three cubs just two days later.

The Animalarium had taken in a new lynx to provide company to the attraction’s current lynx, who is called Nilly, but within two days they had more of the big cats than expected following the arrival of three cubs.

Jean Mumbray, the owner of the Animalarium, said: “The new lynx arrived on Thursday, 12 May and on Saturday, 14 May she produced three cubs. This was an unexpected turn of events, we now have a load of lynx.”
