SNOWDONIA National Park has apologised after Facebook translated one of its social media posts and changed a word to ‘sex’.
The post was suggesting people visit the interpretation room at the Ogwen Centre.
The authority was asking people if they were “visiting the Ogwen area sometime?”
However, the automatic English translation underneath changed this to “intending to visit the Ogwen area sex?”
Readers thought it was funny and Snowdonia National Park posted a comment to apologise for the error.
A spokesperson said: “Oh dear! Facebook’s translation facility seems to have made a bit of a mess of it! Apologies for this!”
They directed people on how to read versions in both English and Welsh.
