With another lockdown, how about using the time to read a good book to learn more about Wales, its history and its people?
The remarkable Welsh author,Terry Breverton, has written a phenomenal number of great factual books over the years.
Just think of some of the titles: First World War Curiosities,Breverton’s Encyclopedia of Inventions; 100 Great Welsh Women; 100 Great Welsh Men;The Tudor Kitchen; Wales’ 1000 Best Heritage Sites; Black Bart Roberts; The Tudors: A Gross of Pirates; Breverton’s Phantasmagoria; Breverton’s Complete Herbal;Breverton’s Nautical Curiosities; The Physicians of Myddfai... Plus books on Owain Glynd?r, Jasper Tudor, Richard III, Henry VII, Sir Henry Morgan etc.
He even has a book called The Journal of Penrose Seaman. This was the first ever American novel and was written by a Welshman called William Williams.
Terry Breverton has been awarded the Welsh Book Council’s Book of the Month no fewer than five times. Much deserved!
His work-rate and meticulous detailed research are absolutely astounding.
In my mind he is a true Welsh hero and deserves the support of Wales and its people. He records our history!
A healthy and prosperous 2021 to all! Blwyddyn Newydd Iachus a Llewyrchus i bawb!
