SCORES of walkers enjoyed a veritable feast of cake and camaraderie to make the annual charity Barmouth walk another ringing success.

Organisers of the 23rd Barmouth sponsored walk are celebrating success after an impressive 126 people took part to raise money for Barnardo’s on 15 October.

After a damp start the weather cleared and the walkers were rewarded with magnificent views along the scenic walk and plenty of homemade cake provided by Barnardo’s Helpers’ Group.

Walkers were invited to choose from a five, 10, 15 or the full 20-mile walk.

The full route followed a circuit below Diffwys Ridge with fantastic views of the Ardudwy coastline.

It then climbed over the Bwlch y Rhiwgyr pass to Bwlch y Llan with breathtaking views to the finishing point at The Last Inn.

Organiser Lark Davies said: “It was a brilliant walk for a brilliant cause and we would like to give our special thanks to all the helpers and supporters.”

Among those taking part were the Caban Bach Family Support Team, one of Barnardo’s Cymru’s services which supports vulnerable families before they reach crisis point.

The Caban Bach team has set up a Just Giving page at https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/Caban-Bach and hopes to beat the £350 raised last year.
