A SUNDAY fun day has raised thousands of pounds for the RNLI.
Once again Stormy Stan drew in the crowds to the Lifeboat Station on the promenade for Barmouth RNLI’s annual fun day on Sunday, 20 August.
The all-weather lifeboat, Moira Barrie, was on display out on the beach and locals and holidaymakers came along to enjoy the games, and to grab a bargain at the many stalls. Cakes and refreshments were available and the crew once again served up a barbecue lunch.
The Cox in the Stocks stall was as popular again this year, with children and adults queuing up to soak the coxswain and second coxswain with wet sponges.
The RNLI Face to Face team were in attendance and there was much interest in the community safety officer’s stall set up for the Respect the Water Campaign.
A spokesperson for Barmouth RNLI said: “Thanks to the dedication of fund-raisers and crew, and to the generosity of the public, over £2,345.24 was raised on the day.
“Barmouth RNLI would like to thank the many local shops and other organisations for their continued generosity, and to all those who visited for their continued support for this worthy cause.”
