A NEW Quay beach was closed for a couple of days over the Easter bank holiday after farm slurry contaminated a stream running into it.
Environmental health officers from Ceredigion County Council were notified of the spill on Friday evening.
Warning signs “for the health and safety of the public” were placed at the entrance to Dolau Beach advising people to stay clear of the area, although the beach reopened on Monday.
On Monday afternoon a Ceredigion County Council spokesperson said: "The farm slurry has been cleared, the beach has been reopened and is now open to the public.”
