AN ABERYSTWYTH schoolgirl set to compete in the finals of a beauty pageant in Cardiff later this summer has said she will use the opportunity to raise awareness of bullying.
Megan Williams, from Borth, who is 15 and studying towards her GCSEs at Penglais School, was named Miss Teen Enchanted Rose Ceredigion earlier this year and will now compete in the finals in Cardiff at the end of August.
Megan is appealing for a business sponsor to help support her in her quest to be named Miss Enchanted Rose 2016, a pageant which aims to raise money and awareness of the Bullies Out charity, which provides help, support and information to individuals, schools, and youth and community organisations affected by bullying.
Megan, who competes in various sports including horse riding, football, hockey, netball, and athletics, told the Cambrian News: “Since my last pageant, many people said I should enter another, especially after how much I enjoyed my previous one.
“I entered Miss Enchanted Rose because it supports a good charity, for the experience and also the fun. There are more than 28 entries in the competition, with girls travelling from Wales and England.”
